Full Job Description
Your Role:

The Business Development Manager - Strategic Capital Projects is responsible for driving strategic growth across the Americas by identifying, shaping, and advancing new business opportunities tied to large capital projects and high-value strategic accounts (Large BioPharm, A&E firms, etc.). The role focuses on creating early access to customer investment plans, strengthening relationships with key organizations/stakeholders, and positioning MilliporeSigma's Process Solutions portfolio to support major customer expansion, modernization, and network investment priorities.

This is a commercially oriented, externally facing role that requires both strategic perspective and a proactive business development mindset. You will be expected to build a robust new opportunity pipeline, influence opportunity direction before formal bid stages, and coordinate cross-functional resources to strengthen MilliporeSigma's competitive position. The role also contributes market insight, customer understanding, and thought leadership to support broader commercial priorities.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Capital Project and Business Development Leadership:
  • Drive business development activities related to strategic capital projects and high-value strategic accounts to expand early engagement, increase visibility into customer investment plans, and strengthen MilliporeSigma's positioning in complex growth opportunities across the region.
  • Partner with commercial teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and business development tactics aligned to strategic capital project pipelines and Regional account priorities.
  • Identify, map, and maintain visibility into priority strategic capital projects, strategic account directions, and associated stakeholder networks across the designated region.


Commercial Coordination and Opportunity Leadership:
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with key commercial stakeholders, especially Regional Account Management, GSA Directors, Franchise Teams and Operations Leaders.
  • Coordinate engagement across GSA account teams, project stakeholders, and Americas Process Solutions Regional commercial teams to ensure aligned opportunity development and execution.
  • Act as an escalation point during pre-sales and post-sales activities for priority strategic capital project opportunities, where needed.


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant technical discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience, or equivalent advanced education and/or relevant certifications with demonstrated technical expertise
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for Capital Equipment in cGMP manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to interpret RFQ/Is, P&IDs, and detailed engineering/design documents


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in business development, strategic account development, capital project sales, or market development within life science, and biopharma
  • Experience supporting large capital investments, complex project pursuits, or consultative solution development
  • Demonstrated success operating in cross-functional and matrixed environments
