ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Business Development Manager to support growth across the U.S. Federal Healthcare Sector, with a primary focus on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
This individual will work alongside senior BD leadership to identify, develop, and qualify opportunities within CMS and the broader Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) community. The ideal candidate brings established familiarity with the federal healthcare landscape, a growing network of customer and partner relationships, and a strong desire to contribute to a high-performing, mission-driven BD team.
Position is located in the Baltimore, MD area (candidate needs to be local or have the ability to commute to this location).
Job Responsibilities
- Support the identification, development, and qualification of new business opportunities within CMS and the broader HHS community.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an active opportunity pipeline in alignment with corporate strategy and growth goals.
- Assist in building and nurturing customer relationships through consistent, professional engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development of strategies to shape requirements and influence acquisition strategies for early-stage opportunities.
- Research and identify new business markets, adjacencies, and potential teaming partners to expand Peraton's footprint within the federal healthcare sector.
- Actively participate in and embrace thePeraton Business Acquisition Process, contributing to opportunity reviews, gate reviews, and pipeline reporting.
- Assist in preparing responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), market surveys, white papers, presentations, and briefings in coordination with technical and program management teams.
- Support senior BD leadership in guiding potential customers by helping demonstrate Peraton's technology solutions, architectures, and capabilities.
- Collaborate with capture managers, proposal teams, and solution architects to develop competitive win strategies.
- Represent Peraton at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to build brand awareness and expand the company's network within the HHS/CMS community.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience supporting business development, capture, or account management activities within the Federal Health or Civilian space, including demonstrated experience within the HHS/CMS ecosystem.
- Familiarity with federal procurement processes, including RFI/RFP cycles, acquisition strategies, and the federal contracting lifecycle.
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with customers, teaming partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and programmatic concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed, enterprise-focused organization.
- High energy, integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to mission success.
- Working knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and the rules and processes that govern the capture lifecycle.
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be local to the Balimore, MD area
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience within specific CMS centers/offices such as CCSQ, OFM, OEDA, or CMMI.
- Direct experience supporting or contributing to contract wins withCMS and/or SSAcustomers.
- Established relationships with CMS program offices, contracting personnel, or key HHS stakeholders.
- Experience supporting teaming strategy development, including identification of prime/sub partnership opportunities.
- Familiarity with core service areas, including IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, or health IT solutions.
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
