Business Development Manager - APE. You will be part of our Power Technique North America Customer Center team reporting to the VP/Business Line Manager - APE. In this role, your mission is to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities that drive sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, and increased customer penetration for the assigned business line. You will contribute directly to how we create high-quality products and solutions for our customers.
You will also serve as the primary growth driver for the organization, proactively identifying target customers, applications, industries, territories, market segments, and channel opportunities. Through a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics, the BDM develops and executes strategies that generate qualified opportunities and accelerate business growth. The BDM also acts as a strong advocate for the customer, ensuring an exceptional customer experience by identifying customer pain points, process inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities that support long-term customer satisfaction, loyalty, and business growth
Your day-to-dayNew Business Development (50-60%)- Identify, research, and prioritize high-potential customers, applications, industries, territories, and market segments based on the full potential.
- Develop and execute market development plans to grow revenue, market share, and product penetration.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new customers through direct outreach, networking, referrals, trade shows, industry events, and digital lead generation activities.
- Schedule and conduct customer visits, presentations, demonstrations, and application assessments.
- Identify customer challenges, operational needs, and application requirements, and develop value-based solutions.
- Lead opportunities from initial prospecting through qualification, proposal development, commercial negotiation, and successful conversion.
- Maintain ownership of opportunities throughout the sales cycle, partnering with the Regional Sales Manager to complete final commercial execution and onboarding
Market Development & Strategic Growth (15-20%)- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and market segmentation studies to identify growth opportunities.
- Identify emerging applications, products, industries, and channels that support long-term business growth.
- Develop business plans and growth strategies for targeted markets and customer segments to make sure Atlas Copco become "First in Mind, First in Choice".
- Establish strong relationships with industry associations, influencers, and key stakeholders.
Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement (10-15%)- Act as the voice of the customer by identifying pain points, barriers, and process gaps that impact the customer experience.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Product Management, and Marketing to improve customer satisfaction and ease of doing business.
- Gather customer and market feedback and recommend actions to improve responsiveness, service levels, and business processes.
- Support Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives and customer experience improvement programs.
Product & Marketing Collaboration (10-15%)- Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing Communications to develop growth strategies, digital campaigns, customer events, trade shows, and lead generation initiatives.
- Support product launches through customer engagement, application development, and market feedback.
- Provide market intelligence and customer insights to support product roadmap, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
- Assist in the development of sales tools, promotional materials, and training content.
CRM, Pipeline & Reporting (5-10%)- Maintain accurate opportunity, activity, and pipeline information in C4C, demonstrating best practices and promoting CRM adoption across the sales organization by showcasing the value of disciplined opportunity management, forecasting accuracy, and data-driven decision making.
- Track lead generation, conversion, and pipeline performance metrics.
- Provide regular reporting on planning vs execution, market trends, competitive activity, growth opportunities, and business development results.
Your skills and experienceExperience:
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales with a proven track record in sales and/or sales management, business development management
- Specialist in the assigned product range.
- Strong interest in dealer/distributor management, sales processes, and marketing.
- An understanding of the different success factors in the sales and dealer/distributor management strategies.
- An understanding of the customer buying cycle and the ability to translate this into a solid vision on how to bring future dealer/distributor management processes into alignment with this.

Education:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, sales, marketing or related, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel:
This position requires extensive travel (over 60% of the time) as needed to coordinate activities.
