Job Description

Position Summary

The Business Development Leader has primary responsibility for directly managing existing customer relationships and seeking new customers in current or adjacent markets. This role will have a key focus on growth and identifying value propositions for our customer base and will also support proposal execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in designated accounts.
  • Support estimating, and other activities with customer follow-up for in-process and submitted quotes and proposals.
  • Develop Capture Plans for strategic/target programs, part numbers and customers.
  • Keep current on industry intel, new programs, customer news, new technology, new requirements, aircraft platform rates, etc.
  • Support activities for customer awards (contract review, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain and expand relationships with key strategic partners, industry leaders, and PCC staff.
  • Identify new customers within designated accounts and regions.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base to support company objectives.
  • Work with business units to develop and execute consistent customer strategies.
  • Assist business units with customer account planning & forecasting.
  • Assist business units with resolution of customer issues.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide market updates to business units for designated customers and regions.
  • Give high-level presentations to customers and create sales presentations in support of leadership.
  • Conduct day-to-day sales functions including data mining, spreadsheet modeling, and database entry.
  • Track opportunities, create sales forecasts, and develop sales plans.
  • Set-up, coordinate and prepare periodic joint customer reviews with key accounts.
  • Actively support and participate in CI, 6S, safety, management of change, and trade compliance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in business or engineering related discipline.
  • Minimum appropriate sales experience (8+ years) in relevant markets with demonstrated results in sales and marketing.
  • In-depth knowledge of the aerospace market preferred.
  • Strong technical or operational knowledge of aerostructure's manufacturing processes, major equipment, materials, tool strings, bill of materials, parts list, tool, 2D drawings, etc.
  • Demonstrated organization skills with the ability to develop programs, write proposals and meet all monthly reporting requirements while traveling as required.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet competing or short-notice deadlines consistently.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
