Verily Health Inc. is seeking a Business Development Lead to enable and accelerate Verily's next phase of commercial growth, with a focus on the Public Sector/US Government segment. Reporting to the VP, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, you will join the team responsible for sourcing and interacting directly with prospective strategic customers, helping them collaborate on a massive scale with Verily on innovative healthcare technologies. You will work cross functionally across each Verily commercial function and with various teams and colleagues across Verily. This role will require you to be flexible and nimble and aggressively grow the Public Sector/US Government business to help establish Verily as the premier solution.

Responsibilities
  • Join a team of Business Development Leads charged with identifying, architecting, negotiating, and closing critical and complex strategic collaborations, working across Verily's lines of business and consistent with the business development strategy and objectives; gain key internal stakeholder and senior leadership support; and collaborate with Verily's cross-functional teams to drive growth.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the different lines of business, particularly our Pre (Workbench, Refinery, Exchange), Verily Me, Lifelong, and Sightline products and capabilities across Verily. Use key learnings to help inform areas for future investment. Manage how the market perceives the company and how new partners/collaborators are perceived within Verily.
  • Develop, manage and own a robust prospect pipeline, KPIs and outcomes. Communicate well and partner effectively with colleagues within the Business Development & Strategic Partnerships function and the broader Commercial team on opportunities and obstacles.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, product, engineering, marketing, and science teams across a range of transaction types, including long-term collaborations, first-of-kind transactions, and multi-party agreements. Evaluate opportunities, conduct due diligence, negotiate agreement terms and present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Work with Commercial leadership to define strategic requirements for strategic opportunities, determine appropriateness and operational fit with existing strategy; develop, nurture and manage a pipeline of major deals.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications
  • MBA and/or other advanced degree and 10+ years of experience working in a business development or strategic partnerships role with specific experience selling innovative healthcare technology solutions.
  • Deal sheet with a proven record of strategic and revenue generating partnerships and collaborations, demonstrating a track record of managing and closing transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously lead multiple deals and complex deal structures from deal inception to successful execution with strong strategic and analytical skill and ability to drive exploration into new and emerging areas using creative problem solving skills and executive-level engagement.
  • Numerous pre-existing and deep relationships across key decision-makers within the Public Sector / US Government space and adjacent market segments.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, with a desire to help cross-functional teams achieve clarity and alignment, and a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives.


Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in regulated environments and in managing and structuring partnerships and long-term collaborations within Public Sector / US Government and related verticals.
  • Familiarity working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, startup-like environment.
  • Experience presenting and delivering succinct messages to external audiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $179,000 - $263,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
