What You'll DoThe Business Development Executive is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the Regional Vice President. This person is responsible for growing our business and our reputation in the given territory/region. This person will work closely with and lead the efforts of Project Managers, marketing personnel, and proposal personnel to win new work.
Key requirements of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic marketing plans to enhance client engagement and business growth.
- Building strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members. Quickly establish trust with clients, industry partners and colleagues.
- Securing business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities regionally.
- Focus on acquiring new clients within the consulting engineering sector, including DOTs, aviation authorities, rail and transit agencies, federal, state, and local entities, water and wastewater, and private sector opportunities throughout the region.
- Oversee and participate in the creation and publication of high-quality marketing materials, including proposals, articles, presentations, brochures, press releases, and monthly company newsletters.
- Attend and actively participate in state and national industry forums and seminars to network and promote the company's services.
- Establish and achieve clear business development goals, metrics, and milestones. Track and report on progress and success to ensure continuous improvement.
- Participates in a regular cadence of BD calls to review the pipeline, status of opportunities, proposal production status, client relations, etc.
- Conduct detailed analysis of RFP/RFQ documents to assess requirements and prepare clarifying questions for the client. Serves as the primary point of contact with all team members (internal and external) for questions related to RFP/RFQ requirements.
- Schedule and facilitate proposal development kick-off meetings in which both internal and external participants attend to discuss the proposal requirements.
- Responsible for conducting a quality review of the final printed proposal documents and perform a detailed compliance check against the RFP/RFQ requirements to ensure the submission is of high quality, and accurate.
- Some travel required, mostly local to client visits and industry events.
What you BringA Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, construction management, business or related field.
10+ years' experience in generating new business/new client development in the AEC industry.
5+ years of experience producing accurate, compliant and compelling proposals in the AED industry.
Leadership experience.
Ability to set up and track metrics and produce reports related to lead generation, proposal success and revenue results.
Proficiency in MS Office 365.
Must possess excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as outstanding organizational and time management skills.
