Full Job Description
ROLE

This is a senior individual contributor role for a seasoned defence sales and business development professional who knows how to operate independently in complex, long-cycle government and defence markets. You will own the full commercial lifecycle - from early market shaping and stakeholder engagement through to proposal leadership and contract award - across the global defence and security landscape.

You will advance your own strategic opportunities, set your own agenda, and be trusted to make the right calls in the field. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining a reporting relationship with our Director, Defence & Security, who provides strategic guidance and access to the broader GSTS network. This is not a role for someone who needs a fully built machine; it is a role for someone who wants to help build one.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, qualify, and advance opportunities across priority defence markets to drive revenue growth
  • Build and manage relationships globally with key stakeholders and partners
  • Define win strategies aligned to customer needs and procurement pathways
  • Lead development of proposals, including structure, messaging, and pricing inputs
  • Drive opportunities through complex, long-cycle procurement processes to contract award
  • Support positioning of OCIANA within existing defence programs, primes and integrators

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within a technology environment and/or 10 years in defence, government, or complex B2G environments (including maritime security, ISR, or operational technology environments)
  • Proven ability to build relationships and advance high-value opportunities by engaging senior stakeholders across government, military, and industry
  • Significant prior experience working within NATO, Five Eyes, or allied government environments
  • Strong understanding of procurement and capture processes
  • Experience leading capture, bid strategy, or program positioning activities

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
  • Experience working with primes, integrators, or NATO-related programs
  • Experience in long-cycle, high-value deal environments
  • Comfortable travelling up to 30% of the time

COMMENTS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Include compliance, security, or role-specific requirements.

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and provide two professional references.

All candidates must be eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
