Reports To: Senior Manager
Salary Range: $38.01 - $57.01 per hour
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Shift: Day
Status: Temporary Full-time (6 months contract)

Position Summary:

The Technical Business Analyst will be a Development team member that develops customized software applications for UHN Research. As a member of this team, the Analyst should have prior experience in working on medium to large enterprise projects in the areas of requirements gathering, and application testing activities, including documentation of test cases, review of requirements documentation, review of design documentation, system-level, and validation test plans, issue/bug reporting and management, data migration activities, internal audits; and recommending process improvements.

Duties:
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site visits, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks/ workflow analysis.
  • Ability to deliver the following artifacts as needed: Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements, Use cases, Initial Design Documents.
  • Ability to successfully translate business processes, systems specifications, and requirements into well-written test plans
  • Execute, document, and evaluate test cases and report test results.
  • Accurately report and track application bugs; verify bug fixes while ensuring other areas of functionality aren't compromised
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team.
  • Be a liaison between business, project managers, database engineers, and technical operations.
  • Generate new ideas, identify opportunities, and develop appropriate business solutions.
  • Other duties may be assigned consistent with job classification.


Qualifications
  • At minimum, Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Business Administration, IT-related discipline or recognized equivalent required.
  • At minimum, 4-6 years of of project experience in software development environment and change management required
  • Working towards Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Sound knowledge of Project and Software development lifecycles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent analytical planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, user-client relationship, and support skills
  • Sound IT technology background
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks among various projects while maintaining deadlines as per the given standards
  • Self-motivated team player who can work with minimal supervision on simple to moderately complex tasks.
  • Able to work with multidisciplinary teams positively and productively.
