Job SummaryAs a Business and Financial Performance Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:- Be responsible for analyzing complex financial and operational data to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities that inform planning, forecasting, and decision making.
- Support strategic and operational initiatives by conducting advanced analytical work from multiple perspectives (financial, operational, and program), using applied statistical and analytical methods.
- Interpret and integrate data from various sources, translates findings into meaningful business and financial insights, and advises management on implications, risks, and options.
- Support executive and leadership decision making by providing credible, evidence based analysis and decision support materials in support of FP&A planning cycles and financial governance processes.
- Focuse on financial and operational decision support within FP&A, and partners/collaborates with VCH Data & Analytics team, who lead enterprise data platforms, standardized corporate reporting, and organizational analytics products.

QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Finance, Business Administration, Health Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline, plus four (4) to six (6) years' recent, related experience in analytics, financial analysis, business intelligence, or decision support roles within a large, complex organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, structured narratives that support business and financial decision making, including the preparation of written materials, visual outputs, and presentations for senior and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data to support business and financial decision making.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to understand budgets, forecasts, cost drivers, and operational constraints.
- Applied knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques used in a business context.
- Advanced proficiency in querying relational databases using SQL.
- Working proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for data analysis, modelling, and reproducible analytical workflows.
- Experience using data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau to develop fit for purpose visuals that support specific FP&A decision needs
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into clear, structured narratives that highlight key insights, drivers, and implications, using written, visual, and presentation formats to support decision making.
- Ability to function effectively in both strategic and operational contexts, understanding the broader implications of analytical results.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.
- Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, decision focused insights for non technical audiences.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and problem solving abilities when working with ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Practices diligence and care when gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
