Position Summary Varmoda is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the analysis, enhancement, and quality assurance of Salesforce-based applications for a government organization. This role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are accurately translated into scalable technology solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of reliable, user-focused systems that improve operational efficiency and support public service objectives.
Key Responsibilities - Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements for Salesforce-based applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, architects, and project teams to translate business needs into actionable technical specifications.
- Create and maintain business process flows, user stories, use cases, requirements documentation, and project artifacts.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to ensure solution quality and business readiness.
- Analyze existing business processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, usability, and system performance.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, and status discussions to ensure project alignment and stakeholder engagement.
- Support defect management, issue resolution, and production support activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with organizational standards, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications and technology initiatives.
- Experience working as a Business Analyst on applications built using the Salesforce platform.
- Hands-on QA/Testing experience, including test planning, test execution, defect tracking, and user acceptance testing.
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements, functional specifications, and business process workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Must be able to work onsite in Lansing, Michigan on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, Michigan at the time of submission.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting Local, State, or Federal government agencies and programs.
- Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Administrator or Salesforce Business Analyst Certification.
- Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid software development environments.
- Prior consulting or systems integration experience supporting large-scale enterprise application implementations.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
Certifications & Clearance - Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst Certification, or related Salesforce credentials are preferred.
