Full Job Description
Peoples Gas Light & Coke Co, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Business Analyst - Field Operations Support in our Chicago, Illinois location.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst), where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

This role has responsibilities that that are varied for the various groups within Peoples Gas. This role will include performing a variety of analyses and working within systems to support planning and operational needs along with other duties as assigned. Positions may also include the development of SQL queries and reports using tools such as PowerBI to support business and operation's needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on large amounts of complex data to provide the business with fact-based insights
  • Offer internal process and user/customer perspective of simplicity, efficiency, and effectiveness into design and analysis
  • Support departmental reporting, metrics, budgets, dashboards, and analytics
  • Make recommendations and present alternatives to address business needs or resolve impediments
  • System configuration and administration
  • Monitor system and process performance and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Influence, gather, define and document complex business requirements and processes
  • Prepare business cases and cost/benefit analysis
  • Work with cross-functional teams and contacts to ensure efficient process flow across organizational lines
  • Anticipate, interpret , and translate overall business/industry trends into proactive/actionable solutions
  • Lead projects or process improvements
  • Serve as subject matter expert on systems, process, and user/customer impact
  • Develop, draft and/or review functional, process, and system design documentation
  • Develop test plan / test cases and coordinate user acceptance testing


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is required
  • Entry level position with some relevant experience preferred (May 2026 graduates eligible to apply)
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Experience working with project management methodology preferred
  • Proficient in standard office software (MS Excel, Visio, Word)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with project management methodology preferred for report development
  • 1+ years of PowerBI report development
  • 2+ years of working with project management methodology on projects related to New Application Implementation and System Upgrades
  • 3+ years of SOL Querying experience
  • Other equivalent coding languages will be considered

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68

Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
