About the Role Schedule: 5 days in / 2 days off followed by 4 days in /3 days off
Reporting to: FP&A Superintendent
Location: Emo, Ontario. Location can be remote, travelling to site per business needs.
Position ObjectiveAs part of the Finance Team, the Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the execution of the financial planning, completing assigned month end and quarter end responsibilities. This role also includes providing accurate and timely reporting and to provide data-based analyses as required by the site Management for decision-making, all-in support of developing and sustaining effective cost control and optimization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBudget and Planning- Review and input the financial planning and forecasting details and inputs
- Validate inputs and work with department heads to develop quality budget and forecast plans
- Support the development of the Financial Life of Mine Model
- Assist management in the reporting, review and analysis of departmental/organizational costs and performance.
- End to end ownership and management of assigned budget and planning departments
- Coordinate the planning cycle including annual budgets, forecasts and the reporting of actual
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the operations department budget and forecast, providing regular analysis operations
Cost and Operations Analysis- Finance lead for planning, reporting and variance analysis of key operations physicals and costs for assigned departments
- Perform Operational and Financial analysis as required by Site Management and assist Department Heads to drive cost consciousness and decision making
- Provide support and adhoc financial analysis to site Management and supervisors as required to meet business needs.
- Share knowledge to internal and external stakeholders and provide reporting as required from financial business tools (eg SAP, BPC, Hyperion Planning, and excel workbooks etc.)
- Support the induction process for new hires or transfers as it relates to the use and understanding of financial tools, practices and processes
- Work with operations to drive understanding of cost drivers and collaborate on cost improvements and assist in implementing cost optimization solutions
Finance Department Support- Provide ongoing support to the Accounting team through analysis, reporting, process improvement and ad hoc tasks.
- Drive the end-to-end month end process, covering tasks of other team members
- Subject matter expert for system generated report building, both SAP and Hyperion Planning
- Support audit requirements for assigned areas and ensure adherence to internal control standards (e.g., SOX and US GAAP).
- Drive business process improvements as required and recommended by internal audit
- Provide assistance with Operational and Financial reporting.
- Assist the Financial Controller and FP&A Superintendent to drive Zero base budgeting.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for improvement and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Be a positive role model for members of the finance team

CompensationThe anticipated salary range for this position will be between $85,000.00 - $93,000.00.

QUALIFICATIONS- Degree in Finance, preferably with professional Accounting designation or a relevant combination of skills and experience
- Minimum 3 years of accounting and finance experience preferably in capital intensive industry (mining, manufacturing, oil and gas)
- Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion Planning is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of office equipment and skilled with computer programs (including Word, Excel, and other Officesoftware)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, with both internal and external contacts and the ability towork with all levels of the organization.
