Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Work with Customer Communications Composition stakeholders (business clients and internal technology teams) to gather requirements from business units and translate requirements to programmers, developers, and QA testers
• Act as the bridge between multiple parties including: our business, control functions, technology partners and our engineering teams (scrum team, QA's, product owners, developers), responsible for delivering statements, among other client facing documents for Canadian Banking Products Engineering - Customer Communications Composition Team. The Business Analysis Specialist will be involved in both the project discovery and execution phases
• Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements and turn them into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, etc. to meet development and stakeholder needs
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member
• Works in an Agile/Scrum environment using Kanban methodology
• Write user stories on JIRA and document artifacts through Confluence
• Perform data mapping analysis to migrate data and functions from current to target state systems
• Create, refine and maintain the product backlog and associated deliverables; release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines
• Support project delivery by providing clarifications on scope and requirements as needed
• Analyze and develop technical requirements based on solution documentation
• Drive high-level E2E solutioning and estimations by working closely with business, software architects and client application teams
• Translate complex problems and challenges into viable technical options and recommendations
• Influence business and engineering decisions with solid understanding of the banking systems and technical expertise
• Liaisons with external vendors, product users, operations staff, technical support groups and other development teams in all phases of development project activities and production support activities
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Assists to help execute end to end testing functions (creating test scripts, test cases and executing test cases/scripts), where required, to assist the project team
• Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Ensure integrity of the business and technical requirements in the end-to-end customer journey
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships
• Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of the Division's business and technology strategies
• Acts in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
• Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment
• Serve as the SME of assigned functional area, oversee all past and future changes and make suggestions on improvements as needed.
• Maintain Customer Communications Composition documentations to ensure that information is up to date and easily accessible by both internal and external teams.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Support process improvement to increase efficiency of the team for project kick-off, project planning, project execution, and project reconciliation

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
• 10 + years' Business Technical/System Analyst experience; creating BSA artifacts - user stories, sequence diagrams, data mapping, etc
• 3+ years' configuration/support experience with OpenText Exstream
• 3+ years' experience with Data Modeling, Data Mapping and creating Data Dictionaries
• 3+ years' Agile Scrum experience - demonstrated understanding of Agile concepts, agile estimations and ceremonies
• 5+ years combined experience JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS office suite or equivalent tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex information for both technical and non-technical audience and to influence decision making across stakeholders; ability to distil complex business requirements into agile user stories and work in close collaboration with Product Owner, Agile Team and other stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, ask the right questions and make decisions under pressure.
• Team player who enjoys collaborating with, learning from, and coaching others so we all become better
• Having an agile mindset and being able to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and client relation skills
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent complex initiatives
• Experience with test preparation and test execution
• Experience producing Swimlane Diagrams and User Journeys
• Experience leading a BSA team for an end-to end delivery, implementation, or digital transformation project
• Financial software development organization experience
