Full Job Description
The Building Systems Engineer Manager is responsible for leading a team in the design, implementation, and management of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS). This role involves overseeing projects, ensuring system efficiency, and aligning engineering efforts with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of building systems engineers, providing guidance on technical issues, career development, and project management.
  • Project Oversight: Direct the planning, execution, and completion of BMS and EPMS projects, including managing budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies for optimizing BMS and EPMS to improve energy efficiency, operational performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of BMS and EPMS with other building systems, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical support for complex system issues, including troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all BMS and EPMS installations and operations comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and clients to align project goals and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation for system designs, changes, and maintenance. Prepare and present performance reports and recommendations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in system performance and engineering practices.


Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field are preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in building systems engineering with significant experience in managing BMS and EPMS projects. Experience with Tridium, Distech, and Automated Logic are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong expertise in BMS and EPMS technologies, with proficiency in relevant software and tools. Excellent leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as BMS/EPMS Manufacture Training/Certification, HVAC/Electrical equipment, LEED, CEM, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Attributes: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.


Work Environment:
  • Primarily remote-based with occasional site visits to oversee project progress and address system issues.

This role is key to ensuring that building management and electrical power systems are efficiently managed and optimized, supporting the organization's operational and sustainability objectives.
