  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, construction reviews, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Act as a liaison for occupants, ensuring their needs are met with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Full Job Description
Responsible for the operation and management of complex science buildings. Single point responsibility for various Argonne Mission Support services: building access and infrastructure issues, engineering, project management, Rapid Response, sustainability, parking lots and grounds, custodial oversight, coordinating moves of materials and building exit inspections. Accountable for coordinating shutdown of building systems to minimize negative impact on operations. Coordination with ESH and some implementation of various facility safety responsibilities.

Coordinates operational and maintenance requirements and serves as building steward and as a point of contact, on behalf of occupants and management. Work includes approving work entry permits and clearances, controlling building access, coordinating building repairs, modifications, housekeeping, moves, participating in pre-bid and pre-constructions meetings and design reviews. Conducting life safety inspections, building tours, identifying and coordinating remediation of unsafe conditions and providing 24/7 emergency maintenance response.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience, some occupations may require graduate degree and 2+ years or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of building systems, engineering principles and construction practice
  • Skilled in preparing cost estimates, design specs, problem resolution and managing the installation and/or construction of components and systems.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving, particularly in high-stress emergency situations, ensuring swift and effective resolution of issues while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Possess a high level of customer service skills and experience, demonstrating the ability to effectively engage with internal and external customers, address their needs, and ensure a positive and satisfactory experience.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • BS Degree in architecture, engineering or equivalent of technical expertise in a similar discipline plus ten years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Preferred
  • Project Management PMI certification, Certified Facility Manager from IFMA or Stationary Engineer license or certification would be preferred.

The expected hiring range for this position is $86,299.00 - $134,626.05.
