Datalogic is looking for a Business Unit Senior Controller, this position will be a key member of Planning & Control and will actively contribute in shaping the future of Datalogic's success inside the controlling team in Calderara di Reno (BO).

Role Mission:

The role will act as a strategic finance partner to the business, providing rigorous analysis, forward-looking insight, and clear recommendations that drive informed decision-making, accountability, and sustainable performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for BU sales, capex, and operating costs - challenging assumptions and aligning financial targets with business strategy in close partnership with business management.
  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to BU leaders, translating P&L results and financial performance into clear, actionable insights that drive timely and informed business decisions.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly management reporting and statistical analysis, proactively highlighting risks, opportunities, and emerging trends beyond the numbers.
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner to the BU General Manager, actively contributing to initiatives that drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Conduct product profitability and investment return analyses; partner with BU management in the development of new product business cases, bringing financial judgement to support go/no-go decisions.
  • Monitor sales and margin evolution, delivering variance analysis vs. budget and prior year with clear narrative and recommended corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across the organization, acting as a connector between finance and business to foster a performance-driven culture.
  • Foster the adoption of new business analytics tools, partnering with relevant teams to enhance financial visibility and decision-support capabilities across the BUs.


Requirements:
  • Education (School/Specialization): Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics
  • Languages: Fluent English and Italian; written and verbal communication
  • Experience: At least 5 years of proven controlling expertise in complex multinational environments, in companies where the control is deeply involved into the business.


Other Informations and Specific Skills:
  • Knowledge of the main MS Office tools (excellent Excel and PowerPoint proficiency)
