Schwab Asset Management (SAM) is a leading asset manager supporting mutual funds, ETFs, and managed account products governed under stringent regulatory and compliance requirements. SAM operates in amulticloud, multicustodian, multivendor ecosystem, relying on a diverse set of external platforms such as Vestmark, Aladdin, Eagle, and others to serve its investment, operational, and regulatory functions.

TheSAMDA BSA / Scrum Masteris ahybrid roleresponsible fordriving delivery execution while owning business and data requirements clarityfor teams building on the SAMDA platform. This role ensures that complex investment and operational data initiatives are translated intowelldefined, prioritized, and executable work, and that teams deliver consistently usingAgile best practices.

Acting as both aBusiness Systems Analyst (BSA)andScrum Master, this role partners closely withProduct Owners, Tech Leads, Platform Engineering, and business stakeholdersto align scope, remove delivery friction, and maintain predictable execution across sprints. The role is critical to keeping SAMDA teamsfocused, unblocked, and outcomeoriented.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Ownership

  • Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders toelicit, analyze, and document business, data, and operational requirements.
  • Translate business needs intoclear user stories, acceptance criteria, and data requirementssuitable for Agile delivery teams.
  • Own and maintain theproduct backlog, ensuring items are welldefined, prioritized, and ready for sprint execution.
  • Ensure requirements reflectdata governance, regulatory, and operational considerationsrelevant to SAMDA initiatives.
  • Support dependency identification and clarify impacts acrossdata domains, platform capabilities, and downstream consumers.

Scrum Master & Agile Delivery

  • Serve as theScrum Masterfor one or more SAMDA delivery teams.
  • Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies, including:
  • Sprint Planning
  • Daily Standups
  • Sprint Reviews / Demos
  • Retrospectives
  • Coach the team onAgile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute inbuilding and operationalizingprocesses for Data Engineering practices, enabling working with product owner, Architect and data engineering teams
  • Remove or escalate impediments that block team progress.
  • Protect the team from unplanned work and scope churn while balancing delivery commitments.

Delivery Execution & Coordination

  • Track sprint execution, dependencies, and risks, ensuringpredictable delivery and transparency.
  • Coordinate acrossplatform teams, data domain teams, and external dependenciesto keep work moving.
  • Support release planning and readiness activities in collaboration with Tech Leads and Product Owners.
  • Maintain delivery artifacts and ensure alignment across Jira, documentation, and reporting tools.

Stakeholder Communication & Alignment

  • Act as aprimary point of coordinationbetween delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Communicate sprint progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to Product Owners and leadership.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve scope, priority, and dependency conflicts.
  • Ensure stakeholders have aclear, shared understandingof delivery goals and timelines.

Continuous Improvement & Team Health

  • Use Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, throughput, cycle time) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive retrospectives towardactionable outcomes, not just discussion.
  • Promote a culture ofaccountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Help teams mature their Agile practices over time.
What you have

Required Qualifications & Experience (Expanded)

  • 610+ years of experience as aBusiness Systems Analyst, Scrum Master, or Agile Delivery Leadsupporting technology teams inWealth Management, Asset Management, or Financial Services
  • Demonstrated experience working oninvestment, portfolio, operational, or regulatory data initiativeswithin a wealth or asset management context.
  • Strong understanding ofwealth and asset management business domains, such as:
  • Portfolio management and investment operations
  • Holdings, positions, transactions, and accounting data
  • Product, security, and reference data
  • Regulatory and compliancedriven reporting workflows
  • Proven ability to translatecomplex business and data requirementsfrom investment, operations, or compliance stakeholders intoclear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
  • Handson experience supportingdatacentric delivery teams, including data engineering, analytics, or platform teams.
  • Practical experience working inregulated environments, with awareness of governance, data controls, audit considerations, and risk management expectations common to wealth and asset management firms.
  • Strong working knowledge ofAgile / Scrum frameworkswith a demonstrated ability to apply them effectively inenterprise, multiteam environments.
  • Experience coordinating delivery acrossmultiple stakeholder groups, including technology, product, operations, and business partners.
  • Proven track record ofremoving impediments, managing dependencies, and driving predictable deliveryin complex delivery environments.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skills, with the ability tobridge business and technology conversations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working ondata platforms, analytics, or data engineering initiatives.
  • Familiarity withinvestment, operational, or regulatory data domains.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
  • Experience working withfederated teams and shared platforms.
  • Comfort working in environments withstrong governance and risk controls.
