Job Summary:
The Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a dynamic Breast Imaging Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor on the Tenure Track.

The successful applicant will be a nationally or internationally recognized leader in artificial intelligence and population health focused breast imaging research with a track record of successfully obtaining extramural funding as Principal Investigator at the NIH R01 level or equivalent. They will also possess a strong background in research strategy, research mentorship and professional development.

The UW Breast Center treats over 700 new breast cancer patients yearly and is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Breast Imaging Radiologist work side by side with an excellent, collaborative team of breast surgeons in the Breast Center. Multidisciplinary tumor board and radiology-pathology correlation conferences occur weekly. A new state-of-the-art outpatient clinic with integrated breast imaging clinical care opened in the Fall of 2024, expanding our multi-disciplinary practice. The breast imaging section in the UW Department of Radiology trains three to four breast imaging fellows and many residents on an annual basis.

• This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
• Applicants for this position will be considered for the following titles: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor on the Tenure Track. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include teaching, research, and patient care.

Clinical responsibilities include interpreting and reporting image studies and/or image-guided procedures within the Breast Imaging section. Performing clinical activities and participating in on-call duties.

Teaching responsibilities will include participating in the teaching efforts of the breast imaging section and the department of radiology. Responsibilities will include lectures, conferences, and clinical assignments, as well as training of residents, fellows, and medical students. Support education opportunities in research career development for trainees and faculty.

Research and administration duties: The successful candidate will have the experience and expertise to establish an independent multidisciplinary research group and collaborate with AI and population health researchers from other Departments and Schools within UW.

The UW Department of Radiology consists of more than 170 faculty across 13 sections, reading over 1,000,000 diagnostic scans per year. We train more than 50 residents and fellows per year and have an extensive presence throughout the medical student curriculum.

Compensation:
Negotiable, 12 month

Required Qualifications:

• WI Medical license by the start date of the position
• Board-certified or board eligible in American Board of Radiology (ABR) by the start date of the position.
• Completion of a Diagnostic Radiology Residency and breast-imaging fellowship training including mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI and image-guided breast biopsies are required by start date of position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Tenure: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on tenure track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the UW Divisional Committee guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the tenure track.

Education:
MD, DO, or equivalent required start date
