BIM Specialist
Job Summary
The BIM Specialist will support model-based project management, process workflows, and construction technology deployment. The BIM Specialist is responsible for creating mechanical and plumbing BIM models and installation drawings for various projects. This position requires advanced-level knowledge of BIM processes and technologies, especially Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, RFTools, and Navisworks systems.
This role will require an individual with strong time management, organizational and communication skills and will act as a liaison for our clients, team members, and consultants. The role will include coordinating with and supporting the client, design team project manager(s), other project administrators, in-house mechanical, plumbing engineers, outside design team consultants, and contractors' construction site team. It is expected that the majority of his or her time be billable to projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform initial set-up for new projects.
- Produce construction documents and 3D level drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Create and manage 2D and 3D building information models; integrate submittal and job specifications into the project model.
- Monitor project interference checks and coordinate resolution.
- Support project team(s) through clash detection and constructability reviews.
- Interpret project schedules to facilitate the BIM process and workflow.
- Read and interpret submittals, MEP drawings, riser diagrams, and other project documents.
- Collaborate with the project team to create installation drawings and provide technical support.
- Work with team members and clients to coordinate deliverables and project deadlines.
- Engage integrated design teams with the development of BIM strategies.
- Quality control/quality assurance for BIM standards on each project.
- Attends and is an active participant in the design and construction project team meetings.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively with other team members.
- Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of three years of direct experience in a BIM Operator role.
- Knowledge of BIM processes and technologies.
- Knowledge of BIM 360 or ACC processes and technologies.
- Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Fools, and Navisworks systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF editing software, SharePoint, and ProCore.
- A passion for working in a team-based environment to deliver solutions to clients.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines.
- Associate's degree in architectural or engineering Technology, or Computer Science or equivalent skills gained through experience.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum - One (1) year building inspection, architecture/engineering, facilities planning or related experience.
- Preferred - Five (5) years building inspection, architecture/engineering, facilities planning or related experience
Salary Range
This is a hybrid role. It is anticipated that the working days in the office will be done at our San Jose, CA office. The expected salary range for candidates who will work in San Jose, CA is $75,000 - 105,000. The final offer to our new team member will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the length, breadth, and depth of experience within the job and the industry, education, etc. ATCE is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states
