Job Description

Hill International is seeking a BIM Manager in Austin, Texas

We are seeking a visionary BIM Manager specialized in aviation infrastructure to lead the overarching digital design, delivery, and lifecycle data strategy for our large-scale airport developments. Aviation project environments require managing complex, multi-billion-dollar portfolios containing active airfield runways, immense passenger terminal expansions, automated baggage handling systems, and highly sensitive landside security matrices. In this senior leadership role, you will define the enterprise-level BIM execution roadmap, align technology investments with corporate business goals, enforce data governance across multi-firm joint ventures, and spearhead the lifecycle data handover strategy to transition the physical airport assets into an intelligent, operational digital twin.

Responsibilities

  • Author, implement, and enforce the Airport Authority's Master BIM Standards, digital asset delivery specifications, and corporate BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for massive, multi-phased programs.
  • Serve as the primary digital technology conduit between airport executives, airline stakeholders, design consortia, general contractors, and federal regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the budget, system architecture, software licensing, and access controls for global-scale Common Data Environments (CDE) utilizing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Establish strict quality metrics and automated model audit protocols for all third-party design and engineering firms to guarantee data compliance.
  • Architect the technical data framework transforming design geometry into operational assets, linking deep Level of Development (LOD 500) parameters directly to Asset Management systems.
  • Define, map, and enforce metadata schemas and COBie standards across thousands of aviation assets, seamlessly marrying indoor BIM layouts with broader Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
  • Oversee the coordination and clearance paths of highly specialized multi-disciplinary systems, including Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), advanced security screen zones, and complex subterranean airside utilities.
  • Champion the development of comprehensive 4D animations and 5D cost simulations to guarantee major infrastructure installations do not disrupt active flight lines or passenger flow.
  • Manage, mentor, and elevate a dedicated internal team of specialized Aviation BIM Coordinators, Modelers, and VDC data analysts.
  • Guide software development and script creation (via Dynamo, Python, or Forge API) to automate heavy model validations and repetitive data scrubbing workflows.
  • Design upskilling curricula and comprehensive training paths to ensure all field personnel and layout teams can fully exploit digital model parameters.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling Management, or business infrastructure administration.
  • Advanced working knowledge of international standards, global framework methodologies, and open BIM practices (e.g., ISO 19650 series).
  • Familiarity with spatial databases, automated data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI), or scripting environments to run cross-model analysis.
