Full Job Description
Reporting to the Manufacturing manager, the flexographic technical manager must always ensure the support of the flexographic presses, including the ink department. He also directly supervises the prepress and plate departments. He must support the employees in the application of good manufacturing methods in each of these departments.

Technical support for the Inks Department

  • Maintain an accurate and minimal ink inventory.
  • Ensure color management in the press department, including control by X-Rite spectrophotometer or other.
  • Maximize the use of the ink mixing system.
  • Evaluate new ink formulations as needed to maximize our processes and the price of ink recipes.


Flexographic Printing Process Support:
  • Oversee the prepress and plate department
  • Maintain and optimize the fleet of press components (anilox, sleeve, etc.)
  • Participate in the training of new operators
  • Participates in the drafting of work procedures at the presses and the ink departments
  • Support the manufacturing manager in certain technical tasks or to improve equipment efficiency
  • Participate in daily production meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity in terms of both set-up times and production speeds, as well as non-quality costs.

Development of Flexographic Processes:
  • Assist the organization in the introduction of new processes to the presses and the ink departments.
  • Improve the performance of existing products by making changes to our manufacturing processes to reduce costs.


Continuous Quality and Improvement Management
  • Support the organization in maintaining our SQF structure and current (FDA) accreditations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects


Other tasks

  • Integrate OHS prevention into all the activities for which it is responsible and ensure that occupational health and safety is a primary objective for its employees;
  • To apply the quality and food safety policy of Hood Packaging Corporation.
  • Must replace, when required, day supervisors; Support the prepress department during vacations
