Provides critical developmentally appropriate clinical care, crisis management, and advocacy for patients and families throughout the hospital campus, including ambulatory clinics located on hospital grounds, by applying knowledge and skills that promote equity, healing, prevent significant disruption to care, and reduce psychological stress. Incumbents are required to work across departments to support complex and acute patients and must be comfortable in dealing with stressful and quickly changing environments. This includes initiating appropriate interventions that promote a healthy and safe environment for patients, families, and staff. Utilizes the hospital's safety tools and Seattle Children's Values-Based Behaviors to model culturally responsive and appropriate interactions and communication with staff, patients, and families. Collaborates with various teams and departments across the hospital system to provide family-centered patient care and support the hospital's imperative to improve hospital access, patient and family experience, quality of care, and care coordination for patients and families at Seattle Children's. This position prioritizes collaboration and partnership with The Center for Health Outcomes (CHO) to design and implement interventions and educational solutions that meet staff and providers' needs.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in social sciences, social work, special education, child development, psychology, communication disorders, or related field; other combination of education and experience that would provide similar competency may be considered
Minimum 3-4 years experience providing behavioral interventions or working in a classroom setting.
Required Credentials
Certified Nursing Assistant Registration within 90 days of hire with renewal annually thereafter.
Agency Affiliated Counselors License within 90 days of hire with renewal annually thereafter.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) with renewal bi-annually thereafter.
Current Safety Care Certification with renewal annually thereafter. (External hires must obtain initial certification within 3 months of hire.)
Preferred
Five years' experience working with a multidisciplinary team in patient care or patient-focused research in an academic medical / pediatric setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of concepts and applications of family-centered care and/or human-centered design.
Experience providing consultation to employees/staff at different levels.
Bilingual.
Compensation Range
$35.28 - $52.92 per hour
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
