Full Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience using finite element analysis (FEA) tools in a product development environment, including Abaqus, LS-DYNA, or HyperWorks.
  • Experience in test development, execution, and analysis, for material model development and model validation.
  • Experience in finite element theory and material constitutive models, in both elasticity and plasticity, static and dynamic load cases with deformation.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.
  • Proficiency in thermal simulation tools (e.g., Ansys-Fluent, Comsol).
  • Understanding of mechanical characterization principles and techniques relevant to battery materials and structures.
  • Understanding of the internal cell structure and manufacturing process.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain battery level structural simulations, for both cell and pack.
  • Provide design recommendations to improve battery design, process, and its integration.
  • Coordinate test and validation activities for battery and components.
  • Use FEA tools to enhance understandings of battery cell and pack behaviors in devices, in both static and dynamic cases.
  • Support root cause analyses for battery manufacturing or reliability failures.


Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $218000 (USD) 15% bonus target bonus equity benefits
