Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience using finite element analysis (FEA) tools in a product development environment, including Abaqus, LS-DYNA, or HyperWorks.
- Experience in test development, execution, and analysis, for material model development and model validation.
- Experience in finite element theory and material constitutive models, in both elasticity and plasticity, static and dynamic load cases with deformation.
Preferred qualifications:- Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or similar drafting software.
- Proficiency in thermal simulation tools (e.g., Ansys-Fluent, Comsol).
- Understanding of mechanical characterization principles and techniques relevant to battery materials and structures.
- Understanding of the internal cell structure and manufacturing process.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain battery level structural simulations, for both cell and pack.
- Provide design recommendations to improve battery design, process, and its integration.
- Coordinate test and validation activities for battery and components.
- Use FEA tools to enhance understandings of battery cell and pack behaviors in devices, in both static and dynamic cases.
- Support root cause analyses for battery manufacturing or reliability failures.
