Full Job Description
BASE MANAGER - MEDICINE HAT (MHT)

The Base Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities for the base ensuring all operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Base Manager addresses equipment management and oversees personnel issues and ensures operations budget is managed effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
  • Interviewing and hiring new employees. Disciplinary action, evaluations, reviews, terminations, as well as employee welfare concerns at the base
  • Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety, Environmental, National Safety Code, Trican Well Service Ltd, government, as well as client policies and regulations
  • Ensure job quality, safety requirements, and standard procedures coincide with Trican company standards, government legislation, and customer requirements
  • Responsible for incident reporting and incident investigation
  • Manage all operational costs in base to ensure spending is within budget and is necessary
  • Approve invoices for base up to a maximum amount set by the VP of Fracturing
  • Perform facility inspections and ensure follow up on deficiencies is completed
  • Field visits are required

Experience & Skills:

  • High school diploma is required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Base Operations with Field Experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques
  • Able to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
  • Skilled in supervision while exhibiting motivation, coaching, delegation, and training
  • Admirable interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management, and customers
  • Ability to adapt to changing working conditions
  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies, and government regulations
