Job Summary:

Direct employees and activities in the Trans./Safety Training Units. These duties include directing and evaluating the performance of Trans. Instructors/Div. Safety Supt's: curriculum development; evaluation of probationary employees; development of new training initiatives; and provide training and direction to the Division Training Supervisors. Plan, develop, Implement and manage all DOB regulations mandated under NYS Motor Vehicle and Traffic Law, Section 19-A and the Federal Commercial Moter Vehicle Safety Act (CDL). Develop the policies/procedures necessary for ensuring NYCT's compliance with these regulations. Develop and manage the Performance Evaluation Program to evaluate and improve the safety of all B/Os. Develop and implement probationary review programs. Provide training to LI Bus & MTA Bridges & Tunnels.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) Transportation Management; Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent; Training or related discipline Required
  • Satisfactory equivalent of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
