Azure Platform Administrator

Location Rartian NJ Onsite

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Azure Platform Administrator with 8 years of strong handson exposure to Azure cloud platform operations

The role will be responsible for managing securing monitoring and optimizing Azure infrastructure services across enterprise environments

The candidate should have working knowledge of Azure Databricks administration including workspace management access control compute governance and integration with Azure services

This position requires close collaboration with other platform cloud data engineering DevOps security and application teams to ensure stable scalable and compliant platform operations

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Azure platform services such as virtual machines storage accounts virtual networks Azure Key Vault Azure Monitor Azure Backup and identity access components

Manage Azure subscriptions resource groups rolebased access control policies tagging standards cost controls and governance guardrails

Support Azure Databricks workspaces clusters jobs libraries secrets access permissions and workspacelevel configuration

Implement and maintain secure connectivity patterns including VNets private endpoints firewalls managed identities service principals and storage access controls

Monitor platform health performance availability usage and cost trends identify optimization opportunities and implement preventive controls

Collaborate with DevOps teams to support infrastructure automation CICD pipelines deployment standards and environment management across Dev QA UAT and Production

Troubleshoot Azure and Databricks platform issues related to access compute storage networking job execution and service availability

Maintain documentation operational runbooks access review processes incident response procedures and platform best practices

Required Skills

Strong handson experience in Microsoft Azure administration including compute storage networking monitoring security backup and identity services

Good working knowledge of Azure Databricks platform administration including workspace management cluster policies compute configuration access controls and job monitoring

Experience with Azure Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID IAM RBAC managed identities service principals conditional access concepts and secure authentication patterns

Knowledge of Azure networking concepts such as VNets subnets NSGs route tables private endpoints VPN or ExpressRoute DNS and firewall configurations

Experience with Azure storage services especially ADLS Gen2 storage account security access keys SAS OAuth and integration with Databricks

Understanding of data platform concepts such as Delta Lake Unity Catalog data governance lineage catalogschematable permissions and secure data access patterns

Handson exposure to automation and scripting using PowerShell Azure CLI Terraform ARMBicep templates or similar infrastructureascode tools

Ability to analyze incidents perform root cause analysis tune platform performance optimize cloud costs and drive operational improvements

Qualifications

8 years of handson experience in Azure platform administration or cloud infrastructure operations

Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience

Relevant Microsoft Azure certification such as Azure Administrator Associate Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate is preferred

Databricks certification or formal training in Databricks platform administration data engineering or Lakehouse architecture is an added advantage

Strong communication stakeholder management documentation problemsolving and crossfunctional collaboration skills
