Job Summary
The Azure AKS Support Engineer will act as the technical owner for Azure Containers and AKS support cases from initial customer interaction through final resolution. The role focuses on triaging and troubleshooting AKS environments, including cluster configurations, node pools, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, container images, workloads, ingress, services, DNS, and persistent volumes. The engineer will use Azure tools and diagnostics to identify root causes, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and provide clear documentation and resolution summaries.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the technical owner for Azure Containers and AKS support cases from first customer interaction through final resolution.
• Triage, categorize, prioritize, assign, and coordinate incidents and support requests based on business impact, technical complexity, and urgency.
• Review AKS cluster configurations, node pools, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and related Azure resources to determine the appropriate troubleshooting approach.
• Troubleshoot AKS cluster, node pool, pod deployment, scaling, upgrade, monitoring, and connectivity issues using Azure Portal, Azure CLI, kubectl, logs, and diagnostics.
• Support issues involving Azure Container Registry (ACR), Azure Container Instances (ACI), container images, registry access, image pulls, workload deployments, ingress, services, DNS, persistent volumes, and cluster add-ons.
• Use Azure Activity Logs, AKS diagnostics, Azure Monitor, Container Insights, and relevant logs to isolate root causes and recommend mitigation steps.
• Communicate with customers, advisors, internal engineering teams, and partner support teams, providing clear status updates, next steps, risks, and resolution summaries.
• Document troubleshooting steps, customer impact, mitigation actions, root-cause findings, and final resolutions in the support case system.
• Participate in weekend shift rotations and crisis handling when required while maintaining professional customer communication under pressure.
