Job DescriptionPosition:AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure
- Architect highly available and fault-tolerant AWS solutions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
- Manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, EKS, Lambda, and CloudWatch
- Implement security best practices, compliance controls, and cost optimization
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure issues
- Support production environments and participate in on-call rotations
Client-Facing Responsibilities- Act as a technical point of contact for clients on AWS infrastructure and cloud architecture
- Gather client requirements and translate them into technical designs and solutions
- Lead client discussions for architecture reviews, cloud migrations, and optimization initiatives
- Provide technical guidance, best practices, and recommendations to clients
- Participate in client meetings, status calls, and technical workshops
- Assist with incident response and root cause analysis involving client environments
- Create and present technical documentation and architecture diagrams for clients
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client expectations and SLAs are met
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of cloud engineering experience with strong AWS focus
- Proven experience in client-facing or consulting roles
- Deep knowledge of AWS networking, security, and core services
- Strong experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Linux administration and scripting experience (Bash, Python)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Experience with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
- Experience in MSP or managed services environments
Experience presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
