AWS Application Production Support Engineer **

Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced AWS Application Production Support Engineer to support enterprise back-office applications, including HR and Finance systems, running in a large-scale AWS environment. The engineer will monitor applications and scheduled processing, investigate production incidents, analyze logs, troubleshoot cloud and database related issues, restore services, and coordinate resolution with application and engineering teams.

This role requires someone who can work independently in a time sensitive production environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable going beyond predefined knowledge articles-analyzing available evidence, determining likely failure points, researching unfamiliar issues, and recommending practical next steps when documented procedures do not fully address the problem.

The position is primarily focused on production support and operational execution, rather than application development or building deployment pipelines.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Monitor AWS hosted applications and respond to production alerts and incidents.
. Perform incident triage using AWS consoles, application logs, monitoring tools, and available operational documentation.
. Investigate application and processing failures across AWS services, databases, and scheduled jobs.
. Support Amazon RDS and Amazon Redshift and troubleshoot database related application issues.
. Run and troubleshoot existing AutoSys jobs and scheduled processes.
. Monitor and troubleshoot existing CI/CD pipelines and operational processes.
. Identify likely root causes or failure points and recommend appropriate next steps.
. Restore services using approved production support procedures.
. Independently research solutions when existing knowledge articles do not fully address an issue.
. Escalate complex incidents to SMEs and engineering teams with complete diagnostic findings.
. Create, update, and track incidents and service requests in ServiceNow.
. Identify recurring manual activities and opportunities for operational automation.
. Maintain and improve knowledge articles and support documentation.
. Coordinate with application development, infrastructure, AWS, database, and business support teams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5+ years of application or production support experience in an enterprise environment.
. Strong hands-on AWS production support experience, including AWS console navigation and cloud log analysis.
. Strong incident triage, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
. Hands on experience with Amazon RDS and Amazon Redshift.
. Experience with AutoSys or a comparable enterprise job scheduling platform.
. Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD processes, with experience running and troubleshooting existing pipelines.
. Strong log analysis skills and the ability to identify likely failure points across applications, AWS services, databases, and scheduled processes.
. Experience with ServiceNow or a comparable incident/ticket management platform.
. Ability to independently investigate issues when documented procedures are incomplete.
. Experience restoring services using approved operational procedures and escalating complex issues with clear diagnostic evidence.
. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross team coordination skills.
. Ability to work effectively in a time sensitive 24x7 production environment.

Desired Skillset:
Preferred: Python scripting/automation, AWS Associate level certification, and experience supporting enterprise HR, Finance, or other back office applications.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $109,500.00 $156,700.00.
