This role is a critical member of regional leadership, shaping strategic priorities, influencing product evolution, and reinforcing Goldman Sachs' position as a trusted advisor to UHNW clients.
Key Responsibilities Regional Leadership & Business Strategy
  • Define and execute the regional lending strategy, aligned with firmwide priorities and growth objectives.
  • Own regional lending performance, including pipeline generation, revenue delivery, and portfolio quality.
  • Serve as a senior representative of the Private Bank lending platform with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Identify market trends, client needs, and competitive dynamics to inform product innovation and strategic positioning.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of RLAs and lending professionals, fostering a high-performance, client-centric culture.
  • Set clear expectations around origination, execution excellence, risk discipline, and collaboration.
  • Drive talent strategy, including hiring, coaching, and succession planning to build a scalable and sustainable platform.
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, integrity, and partnership across teams.
Client & Advisor Partnership
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior PWAs and key clients, positioning as a strategic advisor on complex financing needs.
  • Partner with advisors in client and prospect engagements to identify, shape, and win sophisticated lending opportunities.
  • Provide expert guidance on tailored lending strategies across securities-based lending, structured credit, real estate, and specialty asset financing.
Origination & Credit Structuring
  • Lead the origination and structuring of complex, bespoke lending transactions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and firm risk appetite.
  • Act as the senior credit thought partner, bringing creativity and discipline to structuring solutions.
  • Oversee transaction execution, ensuring high-quality credit proposals and efficient deal progression in partnership with underwriting.
Risk & Control Leadership
  • Maintain ultimate accountability for portfolio health and risk oversight within the region.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
  • Reinforce a strong first line of defense mindset, ensuring adherence to credit policies, regulatory standards, and control frameworks (including KYC/AML).
  • Partner closely with Risk and Underwriting leadership to uphold disciplined credit governance.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in UHNW lending, private banking, or commercial banking, with a proven track record of leading lending businesses and teams.
  • Deep expertise structuring complex transactions across commercial real estate, securities-based lending, alternatives, and privately held assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic level, influencing senior stakeholders and driving business outcomes.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional credit judgment, commercial acumen, and ability to balance growth with risk discipline.
  • Outstanding communication and executive presence, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, advisors, and senior leadership.
  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of driving results across matrixed organizations.
  • Series 7, 63, and SIE required (or must be obtained within 4 months).
What Success Looks Like in This Role
  • Delivery of sustained regional lending growth, supported by a robust, high-quality pipeline.
  • Recognition as a trusted strategic partner by PWAs, clients, and senior leadership.
  • A high-performing, engaged team with strong bench strength and succession readiness.
  • Consistent execution of complex transactions with excellence in structuring, speed, and client experience.

  • Meaningful contribution to platform evolution, product innovation, and broader AWM strategy.
