Enterprise Competitive Intelligence Leadership

    • Competitor profiles and scorecards
    • Market and competitor "pulse" reports (weekly/monthly)
    • Strategic deep dives on high-priority competitors or segments
    • Executive-ready briefs and board-level narratives (as needed)

  • Partner with Finance, Strategy, Technology, Operations and Product teams ensuring analytical rigor and organization applicability
  • Assist in the development of long-range strategic outlooks, horizon scanning and early warning indicators

  • Build trusted relationships with leaders across the enterprise; operate as a consultative partner who understands business objectives and decision timelines
  • Coordinate with Business Insights peers to avoid duplication, elevate best practices, and ensure a connected insight ecosystem
  • This role integrates market analysis, competitive peer research, industry foresight, and strategic insights into a unified intelligence function. The AVP will responsibly leverage advanced analytics and Generative AI capabilities to accelerate insight generation, scenario exploration, and executive storytelling-while ensuring strong human oversight, governance, and decision accountability

Executive Decision Support
  • Translate complex market and competitive data into clear, concise insights for executive audiences to support our strategic plans. Capturing insights that affirm and/or challenge our strategic objectives.
  • Support major strategic initiatives
  • Provide rapid-response intelligence to support senior leaders and functions as required
  • Build intelligence processes that scale across the organization
  • Collaborate with Enterprise and Divisions Finance, Product, Distribution, Strategy, HR and IT teams to embed competitive insights into our enterprise-level strategy and long-term vision

Tools, Data, and Analytics Enablement
  • Select and/or optimize tools and data sources (news, filings, databases, third-party research, etc.)
  • Establish dashboards and repeatable analytics to monitor market share signals, competitive product changes, distribution shifts, and brand/consumer indicators
  • Ensure all function practices adhere to legal, ethical, and compliance standards, including appropriate use of public information and internal policies

The experience you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA, ASA, FSA, MBA or CFA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, strategy, or investor relations
  • Strong understanding of life insurance products, capital frameworks, and regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ).Enterprise mindset: Optimizes for company overall outcomes, not just a single line of business
  • Action orientation: Moves from "insight" to "impact" by recommending actions and tracking adoption
  • Intellectual curiosity + rigor: Asks the right questions, tests assumptions, and uses structured frameworks
  • Executive presence: Can brief senior leaders confidently, distill complexity quickly, and manage sensitive topics with discretion
  • Strong prioritization: Balances always-on monitoring with deep dives; focuses on what will drive the biggest decisions
  • Connector and translator: Bridges Strategy, Product, Distribution, Finance, and Analytics communities-turning differing needs into a shared view
  • Builder: Establishes repeatable processes, templates, and knowledge repositories that scale
