The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the AVP, Data & Reporting provides strategic vision and enterprise leadership across Farm Mutual Re's data ecosystem. This role oversees data engineering, business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics capabilities, ensuring the organization leverages trusted data to drive informed decision-making, operational excellence, and business growth.

The AVP, Data & Reporting is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise data strategy, establishing governance frameworks, and advancing data and analytics capabilities that align with organizational priorities. This position partners closely with executive leaders and business stakeholders to shape the future-state data architecture and reporting environment while fostering a culture of data literacy and analytical excellence.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop and execute the enterprise data and reporting roadmap, aligning data capabilities, governance, and controls with business objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of data engineering, business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics teams.
  • Establish and champion the enterprise Data Governance & Control Framework, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and security and privacy compliance.
  • Define enterprise standards, architectural patterns, and integration approaches that support scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms.
  • Lead the development and monitoring of enterprise KPIs, executive dashboards, and performance scorecards that provide meaningful insights into business performance.
  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption of self-service analytics and data literacy programs, enabling business users to leverage trusted and well-documented data assets.
  • Maintain technical fluency in modern data platforms, reporting tools, and analytics technologies to guide strategy, assess solutions, and challenge technical recommendations.
  • Implement monitoring and control mechanisms that improve data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across financial and operational reporting.
  • Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into actionable data engineering, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Establish and lead an Analytics Community of Practice that promotes knowledge sharing, analytical excellence, and consistent reporting standards across the organization.
  • Influence leaders and business partners to adopt consistent data stewardship practices and common metric definitions across the enterprise.
  • Lead, coach, and develop leaders and technical professionals while building organizational capability, succession strength, and employee engagement.
  • Manage departmental priorities, resources, and staffing to ensure successful delivery of strategic and operational objectives.


Your Skills and Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • You have 10-12 years of progressive experience in analytics, reporting, data management, or related disciplines.
  • You have 3-5 years of leadership experience managing teams or departments
  • You have demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise data strategies and roadmaps.
  • You possess a strong understanding of modern data platforms, business intelligence tools, analytics solutions, and data architecture practices.
  • You have experience establishing data governance, quality, security, and compliance frameworks within a complex organization.
  • You excel at translating complex business strategies into actionable data and analytics initiatives.
