AVP, Central Operations SupervisorDirect Hire

Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Central Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing and supporting all areas of the Central Operations Department and maintaining appropriate standards and controls. This will occasionally include Treasury Management and Digital Banking functions. The incumbent is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of the department and is expected to provide ongoing leadership, training, and support.

The Central Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the department adheres to all regulatory requirements, meets processing schedules, operates effectively, and achieves processing objectives.

The incumbent supports the Central Operations Manager in writing detailed procedures that follow all applicable rules and regulations. Assists in the timely completion of compliance, legal, and other sensitive departmental documents. Works on special projects as assigned by management and upholds the highest standards in relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent supervises and coordinates activities of department personnel and their respective operations. This position requires the individual to work in an office environment independently and with minimal supervision.

Ensures compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides guidance and training to staff members of the Central Operations Team.
  • Identifies and escalates issues within procedures, processes, or individual workloads to management. May periodically be tasked with creating, updating, documenting, and teaching procedures and procedural changes.
  • Ensures practices are in place for personnel to meet deadlines, minimize operational losses, maximize customer service, and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Performs critical operational tasks including, but not limited to:
    • Chargebacks
    • Large item returns
    • Unauthorized check claims
    • Check adjustments
    • Stop payments
    • Debit card and ACH Regulation E claims
    • Merchant dispute processing
    • ACH receiving and origination
    • Incoming and outgoing wire transfers
    • Check processing and clearing
    • NSF item processing and returns
    • ACH file load error resolution
    • Research and reconciliation of balancing differences
  • Gathers data and prepares reports for management, audits, and other departments as needed.
  • Supports the Central Operations Department through strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Assures quality control in the completion of departmental certifications.
  • May act as audit lead for internal and regulatory audits.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and directs callers to appropriate personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members.
  • Participates in company-sponsored volunteer and community engagement activities as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Provides ongoing guidance, training, and support to the Central Operations team. Takes initiative in planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating and writing performance reviews; training and coaching employees; handling disciplinary matters; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
Qualifications
