This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will be responsible for test system development in support of manufacturing and qualifying flight avionics hardware. This role will include both hardware and software development for those systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing safe and robust avionics for the New Glenn launch vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and/or testing electronic systems or devices
  • Sound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentals
  • Familiar with programming test equipment for operational usage with a preference for Python scripting and familiarity.
  • Cognizant of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent
  • Familiar with hardware and software development life cycle
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and test
  • Flexibility to support weekend shifts or non-standard hours may be required based on program needs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of coordinated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)
  • Experience leading sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
  • Experience being responsible for the development and testing of real-time embedded systems with a focus on modular and extensible architectures
  • Experience working with Python
  • Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
  • Familiarity with git, Jenkins, JIRA
  • Experience developing hardware to IPC J-STD-0001xS, IPC/WHMA-A-620x-S, and/or NASA-STD-8739.n standards
  • Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and SMC-S-016 (or equivalent testing standards)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)


Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
