We are seeking an experienced
AV Event Systems Engineer to manage the technical lifecycle of client deployments, from system configuration and project planning through on-site execution.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can configure systems, prepare equipment, document deployments and troubleshoot technical issues under live-event pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, image, test and validate Windows-based hardware for client deployments
- Install and manage production software, system updates and licenses
- Troubleshoot video signal flow involving SDI, HDMI, NDI, IP video, reference and genlock
- Diagnose serial data, XML, JSON, network and live production system issues
- Create engineering project plans documenting equipment, network requirements, venue configurations and technical specifications
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, system records and packing lists
- Integrate Mixon Digital systems with scoreboards, broadcast feeds, video switchers and arena display systems
- Lead on-site setup, testing, show support, troubleshooting and strike
- Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, venue staff and broadcast partners
- Manage equipment inventory, allocation, packing, shipping, receiving, maintenance and returns
- Maintain remotely deployed systems and ensure all equipment is event-ready
- Identify and resolve technical risks before they affect a deployment or live event
Required Qualifications- Five or more years of hands-on experience in AV engineering, live event production, broadcast engineering, sports production or a related technical field
- Working knowledge of SDI, HDMI, NDI, IP-based video, reference signals and genlock
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows-based production systems
- Ability to read technical documentation, schematics, signal-flow diagrams and run-of-show materials
- Strong project planning, documentation and equipment-management skills
- Ability to solve technical problems quickly and remain calm in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and complete physically demanding event setup and breakdown
- Willingness to travel and work evenings, weekends and nontraditional hours based on event schedules
- Professionalism, discretion and dependability
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in professional or collegiate sports, in-venue AV or broadcast production
- Familiarity with real-time graphics systems, video switchers, LED displays and scoreboards
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, NDI and IP video routing
- Experience maintaining remote or distributed equipment systems
- CompTIA Network+ certification or a comparable technical credential
