Cognizant is looking for an
Autosys Engineer focusing on stable secure and scalable platforms that enable generative AI solutions on Linux and HP Unix environments in a hybrid work model.
In this role, you will:Autosys Architecture- Event Server, Event Processor, Scheduler, Agent components
- Database backend (Oracle/Sybase) for event/job data
- Client-server communication model
Job Management- Job dependencies (conditions, calendar-based, cross-instance)
- Job profiles, machine definitions, global variables
Monitoring & Troubleshooting- Autorep, sendevent, job_depends, autostatusadj commands
- Interpreting job statuses: SU, FA, OI, AC, RU, ST, TE, IN
- Analyzing logs: event_demon, scheduler, agent logs
- Handling stuck jobs, ghost jobs, missing heartbeats
Administration- User roles & permissions (EXEC, EDIT, ADMIN superuser)
- Agent installation, configuration & troubleshooting (cybera_d)
- Database maintenance, event archiving, log rotation
- HA/DR setup - primary/secondary event servers, failover process
- Patching & upgrades (SP application
- Integrations, Vulnerabilities remediation (crypto, SSL, cipher etc.)
Cross-platform scheduling (Windows/Linux/z/OS agents)- File triggers, external dependencies
- Integration with ServiceNow/ITSM for alerting
- Connections to FTP/SFTP, databases, ERP systems
- Day-to-Day Support Tasks
Responding to job failures (L1/L2 triage)- On-call escalation procedures
- Change management for job promotions (Dev - UAT - Prod)
- Handling user access requests & audit queries
What you will need to succeed:- Scripting (Shell, PowerShell, Python,Ansible,Helios CI CD,Puppet) for automation
- Understanding of cron vs. Autosys scheduling differences
- Familiarity with CA WCC (Web-based GUI)
- Basic networking (ports 9000/9001, firewall rules for agents)
- Redhat Administration (scale 8/10)

Compensation: we are offering an annual compensation between $85,000 - $95,000
