Job Summary:
The Automation/SDET Test Engineer - III will design, develop, automate, and execute comprehensive software testing solutions using Playwright with Java and Java Rest Assured. The role will focus on UI and API automation, regression testing, CI/CD integration, test environment support, defect management, and quality engineering practices. The engineer will collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to build scalable automation frameworks, improve test coverage, and support reliable software releases.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, automate, and execute smoke, functional, integration, system, and end-to-end tests using modern automation frameworks.
• Build and maintain automated regression suites to validate software functionality and prevent defect recurrence.
• Create, optimize, and maintain automated test cases using risk-based testing approaches to prioritize critical scenarios and maximize coverage.
• Develop UI automation for web applications using Playwright with Java.
• Develop API automation for REST and SOAP services using Java Rest Assured and similar frameworks.
• Validate API request and response payloads, status codes, schemas, and API contract compliance.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous test execution.
• Use Postman for API testing and validation.
• Log, track, and triage defects and perform automated defect verification and retesting.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex application issues.
• Code, debug, and troubleshoot Java-based automation scripts and develop modular, reusable, and scalable automation components.
• Develop configurable and maintainable automation libraries and execute automated test plans.
• Generate detailed test reports and analyze test results to support defect diagnosis and release decisions.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to align test plans, automation coverage, and acceptance criteria with business requirements.
• Participate in application design and review sessions to identify automation opportunities early in the development lifecycle.
• Prepare, manage, and automate test data and conduct peer reviews of automated test scripts.
• Ensure adherence to established coding, automation, and testing standards.
• Support the setup and maintenance of test environments, automation infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with manual testers to identify suitable automation opportunities and support the conversion of manual test cases into automated scripts.
• Perform manual testing when required to build functional understanding or validate automation gaps.
• Participate in production deployment testing, remediation activities, and release readiness validation.
• Identify technical and operational issues across applications and provide automated validation where appropriate.
• Contribute to special testing initiatives, cross-functional projects, and continuous improvement of automation strategies.

Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of relevant software quality assurance and test automation experience; 6-10 years is preferred.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Playwright Automation Framework using Java.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Java Rest Assured or similar API automation frameworks.
• Mandatory experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with UFT and VB scripting.
• Strong functional testing experience.
• Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
• Experience with test management tools such as Xray or similar tools for test case management, execution, and traceability.
• Experience with multiple automation programming languages and QA testing tools.
• Experience implementing and auditing automated testing methodologies and QA standards.
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and the role of QA within the SDLC.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, operating systems, web browsers, Internet technologies, SQL, Oracle, web technologies, and authentication or security technologies.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies including Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Working knowledge of test case management and execution using test management tools.
• Bachelor's degree specializing in STEM or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct independent research and analysis and draw logical conclusions.
• Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and work effectively within highly matrixed or virtual organizations.
• Ability to work independently with general supervision and direction.
