About the role:

Works as part of the team to partner with manufacturing in troubleshooting the automated control processes. Contributes to the successful implementation of system improvement projects and drives improvements around manufacturing KFA (key focus areas) goals including but not limited to people/safety, quality/regulatory/compliance, customer, financials, and operational excellence. Mentors and guides manufacturing staff on the fractionation and purification processes, and controls around the process.

  • Monday-Friday: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM


How you will contribute:
  • Implements systems to improve manufacturing KFAs by building a strong partnership with floor leadership. Drives value added results for the business by identifying improvement opportunities from the metrics and implementing them on a timely manner. If metrics do not exist, implement meaningful metrics for the business in a close partnership with floor leadership.
  • Performs user interventions (UI) to ensure that the manufacturing process maintains a continuous flow. Implements sustainable system to reduce UI occurrence and re-occurrence.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains manufacturing SOPs to ensure that they are in-line with the current process steps. Periodically audits manufacturing SOPs and revises them to maintain a rigid connection between control system actions and manual operations.
  • Solves automation system and manufacturing equipment issues that result in production delays; coordinates and contacts support groups for assistance. This support will include DeltaV, EBM, PLC, EBR, BAS, process, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Participates in the execution of Project Record (PR) ownership, DeltaV/EBM/PLC/BAS configuration changes, functional tests, Commissioning Plans, and Qualification Protocols.
  • Learns EBM and DeltaV control systems and assists the team in day to day manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, and change recommendations. Implements actions to prevent reoccurrence - this includes process and equipment issues.
  • Leads and closes small process improvement projects that relate to DeltaV/EBM/PLC/BAS, manufacturing process, manufacturing equipment, and the operator interaction with the automation system.
  • Continuously trains the manufacturing operators on the interaction between manufacturing process and automation.
  • Owns and closes corrective actions related to the automation system; this includes but is not limited to Corrective Action & Preventative Action (CAPA) that are generated due to user interventions and non-conformances/events.
  • Owns system(s) in the fractionation and purification process and provides expert feedback for change notices, user interventions, and non-conformance investigations.
  • Leads/facilitates Kaizen/DDFP activities to identify, correct, and continuously improve manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to discuss normally encountered technical issues, both verbally and in written form. Excellent communication skill set is a must.
What you bring to Takeda:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing automation, controls systems, or engineering operations within a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with automation platforms such as DeltaV, PLC systems (Siemens/Rockwell), MES/EBM systems, or Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing automation and process-related issues with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams and manufacturing leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, mentor operators or peers, and drive continuous improvement efforts without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, food & beverage, or other highly automated industries preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, escalate issues appropriately, and operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
  • Willingness to support night shift operations and adapt to business needs as required.


Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
  • Will work in a cold and/or wet environment.
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.
  • May be required to work in a confined area.
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
  • Required to spend 50% of work time in the manufacturing operations area.
  • Must be able to work in demolition/construction area
    Must be able to work 100% onsite.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$71,800.00 - $112,860.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives.
