Automation Engineer II | Louisville, Kentucky, United States Callouts:
- This role is in person 5 days a week at the South Service Center
- Detailed vetting of the candidates prior to submitting to the requisition required ( phone and/or video call with supplier).
This position is for an engineer on the Transmission SCADA and Automation team.
Essential Functions:
- Involved in Transmission SCADA activities such as programming RTUs, creating points list, and troubleshooting.
- Support automation projects such as IP connecting substations, developing and maintaining substation IED management solutions and scripting tasks.
- Work collaboratively with engineering and compliance teams to develop and implement standards, best practices and innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree ; ABET Accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of utility experience
- Experience with relays, RTUs, Gateways or similar smart grid devices
- Distribution/Transmission protection and controls experience and/or relay test experience
- Familiarity with IED management solutions and substation IP connectivity and related networking.
