Position OverviewAalis Management Consulting is seeking an Automation Developer to support a federal agency's IT Financial Management modernization, workflow automation, process improvement, and financial systems integration initiatives.
The Automation Developer will design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions that improve financial operations, reduce manual processes, enhance data accuracy, and increase operational efficiency. This role will support the automation of financial workflows, reporting processes, data movement, approvals, and business operations across enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, workflow automation tools, scripting, and enterprise applications. The candidate will work closely with financial analysts, program managers, system owners, and technical teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions.
This position requires a technical professional who can analyze business processes, design automated workflows, troubleshoot system issues, and translate federal financial requirements into practical technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions supporting federal financial management operations.
- Analyze existing business processes to identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improved efficiency.

- Financial approvals
- Data validation
- Reporting processes
- Reconciliations
- Notifications and alerts
- Document management
- Business process tracking
- Create solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including:
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- Power BI integration
- Automate manual financial processes and improve operational workflows.
- Support integration between financial systems, enterprise applications, and reporting platforms.
- Develop workflow solutions that improve:
- Audit trails
- Data accuracy
- Process visibility
- Compliance tracking
- Collaborate with financial analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and document automation needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and automation solutions.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and implementation support for automated processes.
- Develop technical documentation, including:
- Process flows
- User guides
- Configuration documentation
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor automated solutions and resolve issues impacting performance or functionality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline federal financial operations.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and release management.
- Ensure automation solutions align with federal security, compliance, and data governance requirements.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing automation solutions, workflow applications, or business process improvements.
- Experience designing and implementing workflow automation solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including:
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- Power BI integration
- Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into technical solutions.
- Experience developing, testing, documenting, and implementing automated workflows.
- Experience in troubleshooting workflow failures and resolving technical issues.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and business systems.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
