Guidance Counselor (Grades 7-12)Attleboro Community Academy
Essential Functions - Assists students and families in developing students' high school educational plans.
- Assists students and families with all facets of college and post-secondary planning.
- Develops the building's schedule with team recommendations
- Schedule each student based upon educational plans
- Services the needs of transfer students.
- Ensures transcripts are accurate.
- Establishes and maintains positive and ongoing communication with administration, teachers, families, and the community through various means.
- Meets with students, families, and team to plan for the students' success in the following areas: personal, academic, career/vocational, and college planning.
- Formulates intervention plans for students.
- Supports school-wide initiatives.
- Demonstrates knowledge and use of pertinent technologies, social media and computer programs such as ASPEN, Naviance, and Google experience is preferred.
- Participates in team meetings, including but not limited to 504 or Special Education team meetings.
- Engages in community outreach including contacts with college admissions offices for outgoing students and middle/high schools for incoming students.
- Classroom teaching responsibilities related to the school's guidance curriculum (MYCAP, etc).
- Experience working in Alternative Education is preferred.
- 7D license is preferred.
- Performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by ACA Administration.
FY27 Salary range: $64,644 - $109,831
