Work You'll Do You will bring considerable technical, functional and leadership experience as part of our Software Engineering team. You'll be responsible for leading teams who support the design, development and deployment of large-scale complex software solutions at an enterprise level. Your team will support various applications and the complex programs surrounding these applications including internal consultants, near-shore and off-shore technologists and multiple vendor relationships. You'll work across geographies, with accountability for the success, effectiveness and delivery of multiple work streams managing a large technology team. You'll lead planning and budgeting; mobilizing and managing engagement teams; defining deliverable structure and content; facilitating buy-in of proposed solutions from management levels; direct on-time, quality delivery of work; manage technology economics; and risk. In addition, you'll do the following:
- Lead and drive discussions to come up with technical architecture and design, working with the team to shape requirements, develop technical design solutions, resolve ambiguities, focus on deliverables, meeting deadlines, quality metrics, etc.
- Manage day-to-day project execution working with your established teams.
- Establish technical design/development guidelines, templates and standards.
- Interact regularly with other stakeholders not limited to end-user clients, project management teams, development teams, offshore development teams, testing and other cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key internal clients, organize and participate in and lead aspects of the development process and contribute to the development of key technology strategies.
- You'll perform the role of counselor and coach, providing input and guidance into the project staffing process. You'll work with other staff members, mentoring, guiding and counseling them through their development.
Qualifications Associate Vice President, Software Engineering - Required Skills and Experience: - 10+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience, managing and delivery large software engineering engagements, working across borders;
- 10+ years planning and managing project initiatives as a key member of the software development team, working closely with practitioners, vendors, internal leaders or work in a similar environment;
- 10+ years of experience leading teams to design, develop and enhance complex technical solutions in Java and Microsoft technologies, both on Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) and .NET.
- 10+ years of experience leading large-scale global technology teams responsible for requirements definition, requirements management, and requirements validation;
- 10+ years of hands-on experience on web/application development using Java/JEE technology stack;
- 10+ years of work experience in the commercial sector with a deep knowledge of industry trends, impacts, contacts in the industries you have served.
- 5+ years' experience selling, running or leading large scale software development programs.
- Extensive team leadership experience managing people, projects, clients, financials, risk and governance.
- Experience tracking and reporting - SLAs and KPIs in a managed services environment.
- Experience using AI to create efficiencies.
- Ability to travel up to 50% based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred background and skills: - Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to handle difficult situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities;
- Experience with industry standard System Development Life Cycle methodologies;
- Industry recognized technology certifications;
- Experience leading high performance, results driven teams with a focus on client satisfaction.

Wages + Salary The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $163,400 to $322,100.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
