Practice Overview

Richter's Valuation, Litigation and Transactions Group (VLT) is a dynamic and rapidly growing practice within the firm. Our team of dedicated professionals thrives on providing strategic financial guidance to clients engaged in various buy- and sell- side transactions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate, with a focus on Valuations.

A Day in the Life of an Associate:

As an Associate, you will balance analytical work, collaboration and client service. You may begin the day by reviewing financial statements, forecasts and market data for a valuation engagement, then meet with senior team members to discuss key assumptions, emerging findings and next steps. Throughout the day, you will build and refine financial analyses, conduct research, document your conclusions and contribute to client-ready reports and presentations. Depending on the mandate, you may also support due diligence, transaction advisory or litigation-related work. Your ability to manage detail, ask thoughtful questions and communicate clearly will be central to delivering high-quality advice.

Responsibilities

Our diverse engagements involve a broad range of services in transaction advisory, business valuation and litigation support. Your mandates will include the following:

  • Preparing business valuations in the context of transactions, corporate reorganizations, litigation and financial reporting including purchase price allocations, impairment testing for goodwill and other intangible assets.
  • Review and analysis of financial data, trends and projections in the context of a valuation, transaction and or litigation matter.
  • Quantification of damages and financial investigations.
  • Report writing.


What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in audit or transaction advisory services
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with a focus on accounting, finance or business administration along with the completion of at least one finance or accounting designation (CPA)
  • Interested in pursuing the CBV designation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills at a business level
  • Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word presentation skills
  • Very strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple mandates.
  • Ability to prepare a financial analysis with attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment under time constraints
  • Comprehensive financial and accounting skills, including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn in fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and complex concepts

The salary range for this position is $78,000-$106,000, and employees may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Compensation complies with applicable pay transparency legislation and is regularly reviewed to stay market competitive. Salaries within the range reflect individual contributions and are based on objective factors such as internal equity, experience, education, role scope, and required skills
