Associate Underwriter, Primary Casualty Large Commercial, USRM

U.S. Risk Management has an exciting opportunity to join the West Zone underwriting team.

As Associate Underwriter, you will support the Underwriting team and act as the owner and principal facilitator of assigned accounts. The Associate Underwriter will perform front-to-end activities throughout the life cycle of renewal and prospect accounts from submission to expiration with Underwriting oversight.

This role will report to Head of West, Primary Casualty.

What you'll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?
  • Review, evaluate risk, and assesses completeness of the underwriting package before underwriter is required to review. Communicate directly with Brokers on to collect account and insured information necessary for risk analysis.
  • Perform and apply knowledge of line of business specific product underwriting rules and/or guidelines for support of submission in preparation of further analysis for quoting stage.
  • Collaborate effectively with Underwriters, Brokers, and internal units within AXA XL to manage the status and workflow of multiple tasks and accounts.
  • Communicate account status to ensure completion of outstanding subjectivities needed to execute policy issuance and premium collection as part of bound accounts.
  • Set up manual rating (workers compensation, automobile and general liability), complete and submit CAT modeling. Develop initial pricing (LST and APT), basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk.
  • Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks owned by Underwriters, Brokers, and AXA XL internal network.
  • Communicate account status to ensure completion of all tasks including premium collection as part of bound accounts.
  • Collaborate and correspond verbally and in written format with internal and external contacts across the country, keeping in mind differences in time zones, to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD (67,400 - 112,400).
