Job Description:

As an Associate Strategy Consultant supporting a Strategy Project Team, you'll contribute across a portfolio of enterprise-level strategy initiatives under the guidance of project Team Leadership. You'll help address high-impact business challenges by conducting quantitative analyses, developing structured and compelling presentation materials, engaging with internal clients, and translating data into insights that inform strategic recommendations. In this role, you'll work closely with Southwest's Senior Leaders, support critical initiatives across the company, and play a hands-on role in shaping company strategy by demonstrating curiosity, clear executive-level communication, and the ability to contribute effectively in a dynamic, project-based environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality, complex quantitative analyses guided by specific input from project Team Leadership
  • Collaboratively engage with numerous peers and Leaders across the Company to gather qualitative input, research relevant hypotheses, source data, etc.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative analyses into insights and perspectives, particularly for an assigned workstream of overall projectForm initial hypotheses within assigned analyses and refine with project leadership
  • Pose questions and offer perspectives to project Team members and Leadership to help develop the overall project solution and associated recommendations
  • Work with project Team Leadership to draft slides or other media to communicate insights from analyses
  • Escalate risks, data issues, or assumption gaps promptly and take ownership of the quality and accuracy of the project's work
  • Present relevant sections of analysis in Sr. Leader and Executive meetings
  • Strive for a high level of individual ownership when completing assigned project tasks
  • Seek to rapidly develop subject matter familiarity, even if new to the topic
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skilled with performing analysis in Excel and developing communications materials in PowerPoint and familiar with other tools, e.g. Word, Visio, etc.
  • Skilled in foundational interviewing (planning, questioning, note-taking)
  • Ability to collect, organize, visualize and assimilate data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented analytical tools and visualization software
  • Ability to be agile in a dynamic learning environment, comfortable with ambiguity, and transfer learnings across topics
  • Ability to collect and synthesize qualitative data into meaningful insights alongside quantitative analysis
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense


Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED


Experience
  • Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
    • Analytical problem solving
    • Partnering with internal and external Teams
    • Communication through storytelling
  • Preferred: Experience in management consulting
  • Preferred: Experience in data modeling (e.g., Excel/financial modeling; ability to quickly ramp on new tools and datasets)

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Pay & Benefits:
  • Competitive market salary from $98,650 per year to $109,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
