Full Job Description
About the team and role:

eBay Parts & Accessories (P&A) is a multi-billion dollar GMV business that has driven eBay's past success and is essential for the strategic direction ahead. The P&A team has a proven track record of success, built on customer obsession, team spirit, mentorship, and consistently exceeding financial goals. With ample growth opportunities ahead, we are excited to build what lies ahead for P&A for those acquiring and those offering alike.

The US P&A team is looking to hire an Associate for the Strategy and Operations function, located in San Jose, CA and reporting to the Head of US P&A Strategy & Operations! The Strategy & Operations group for US P&A holds three primary directives: develop, own, and deliver central initiatives. It also provides insights on complex and ambiguous business topics and manages business review schedules. The Associate will contribute to the overall P&A team's success by supporting and leading major strategic projects, while also driving business reviews. This position involves using research and data, whether external or internal, to help develop strategic insights, compelling narratives, and convincing arguments. The role will also support execution of initiatives with key partners, while ensuring operational excellence in planning, analytics, reporting, project management, and collaboration across a broad cross-functional team. Our key partners include product, analytics, finance, monetization, account management, and business development, among many others.

The role demands a dual mentality: both that of a strategic thinker-who can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition-as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to get their hands dirty. Those who are able to adapt quickly, internalize feedback, and prioritize continuous learning and self-development will excel in this role.

This role is an excellent opportunity for those looking to join a leading eCommerce marketplace, work closely and build relationships with proven and accomplished business leaders, deliver results that matter, grow their career, and innovate at the scale of a global organization for millions of buyers and sellers!

What you will accomplish:

  • Identify and execute greenfield opportunities across US P&A that require strategic assessment
  • Drive progress against milestones for key strategic initiatives
  • Create operational consistency, processes, and alignment across the US P&A business and its partners
  • Establish processes and guardrails to ensure operational success
  • Build executive-ready presentations on US P&A strategic initiatives and operational updates
  • Conduct adhoc analysis to answer critical business questions, leveraging SQL and first-/third-party research as needed
  • Understand and summarize weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners; ensure alignment with other eBay verticals, other eBay teams, and global initiatives

What you will bring:

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset, including structured thinking, distilling key insights from data, conducting research, and creating a compelling narrative
  • High degree of ownership and commitment to results, self-motivated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and visualize data
  • Experience with business case, financial, and operational modeling via PowerPoint and Excel
  • Organized problem solver who balances attention to detail with efficiency
  • Ability to operate in a small, nimble, and impactful team
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Ambition to grow professionally and willingness to work hard, learn/adapt, and provide feedback both upward and to peer teams

Requirements

  • BA/BS required
  • 1-3+ years of professional experience, preferably 1+ years at a top-tier management consultancy, investment bank, business operations role at a tech firm, or in an analytical role at a major corporation
  • Industry experience in consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, or consumer tech preferred
  • SQL proficiency preferred
  • Interest and/or experience in Motors a plus, but not required

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$89,200 - $119,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
