Duties and accountabilities:

The Associate Senior Enterprise Architect
• Defines and governs portfolio architectures and product architectures to enable as well as accelerate solution delivery with the ITS portfolio by leveraging enterprise architecture frameworks, accelerators, guidelines and best practices while ensuring compliance with enterprise guardrails and architectural standards.
• Drives enterprise-wide adoption and optimization of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI/ML and Agentic AI capabilities - including services such as Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Agent Service, and Google Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform - and modern integration patterns to enable secure, scalable, and intelligent solutions across the organization.
• Translates organizational strategy, business priorities, and digital transformation goals into coherent, actionable enterprise architecture direction and technology roadmaps - including strategies for multi-agent orchestration, autonomous workflows, and AI-augmented business processes.
• Evaluates and applies industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices - including agentic AI orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework (converging AutoGen and Semantic Kernel), Google Agent Development Kit (ADK), Strands Agents SDK, and OpenAI Agents SDK pragmatically to advance the World Bank Group's digital transformation and modernization objectives.
• Produces high-quality, traceable architecture artifacts - including reference architectures, design patterns, solution guides, decision frameworks, and agentic AI governance models - that enable delivery teams to execute effectively and consistently across cloud-native and multi-agent environments.
• Collaborates effectively with business leaders, solution architects, platform engineers, and Agile teams to co-create solutions - including AI agent workflows, RAG pipelines, multi-agent systems, and human-in-the-loop designs - that balance innovation, feasibility, and enterprise alignment.
• Acts as an enterprise enabler and trusted advisor, aligning diverse stakeholders around shared architectural standards, patterns, and governance practices - including agent lifecycle governance, agent identity and access management, and responsible AI guardrails.
• Demonstrates openness to feedback, fosters inclusive decision-making, and integrates diverse technical and business perspectives into architectural recommendations.
• Balances innovation with risk management, regulatory compliance, security, and operational stability - including AI content safety guardrails, agent policy enforcement, FinOps for AI workloads, and agent observability - in all architectural decisions and guidance.

• Designs and enforces event-driven architectures (EDA) using cloud-native messaging and streaming services - including Amazon EventBridge, Amazon Kinesis, Azure Event Grid, Azure Service Bus, Google Pub/Sub, and Apache Kafka - to enable real-time, loosely coupled, and resilient enterprise integrations at scale.
• Leads the definition and governance of API-led connectivity patterns - including experience APIs, process APIs, and system APIs - establishing API lifecycle management standards, versioning strategies, contract-first design, and developer portal governance to promote reusability and interoperability across enterprise systems.
• Drives cloud integration architecture for multi-cloud and hybrid environments, defining patterns for cross-cloud data synchronization, identity federation (Entra ID, AWS IAM Identity Center, GCP Identity), network interconnectivity (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, Cloud Interconnect), and workload portability to ensure operational resilience and vendor risk mitigation.
• Defines enterprise integration standards for data interoperability and exchange, including master data management (MDM) integration, ETL/ELT pipeline architectures (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, dbt), real-time data streaming, and canonical data models to ensure data consistency, quality, and traceability across enterprise systems and analytics platforms.
