Job Description:We are searching for the best talent for an In Vivo Associate Scientist in Immunology Discovery to be in Spring House, PA
The in vivo Associate Scientist II will be a member of the Immunology Discovery group in a fast paced, highly matrixed and interactive environment. This group is focused on discovering novel therapeutics to treat inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated individual to join our Spring House-based team and be part of a broader group including members in the Spring House (PA), La Jolla (CA), and Cambridge (MA) campus focusing on immune mechanisms and pathways in various immune-mediated diseases. The primary responsibility will be to actively engage in early discovery efforts by designing and executing in vivo and ex vivo experiments to support the Immunology Discovery strategy. The candidate should have a strong background in in vivo biology and preferably proficiency in immunology models in the respiratory and autoimmune field. The candidate will have direct responsibility for the design and execution of experimental in vivo and ex vivo/in vitro strategies, closely overseeing the generation, analysis and accurate recording of data in compliance with data integrity requirements, and presentation of findings to peer scientists. The candidate will also possess a strong ability to independently implement experiments, interpret data, and troubleshoot issues.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with biological sciences, toxicology or a related field with 2-3 years of pharmaceutical industry/CRO experience with in vivo work is required.
- Demonstrated strong in vivo rodent handling skills that cover classic PK/PD models (dosing through various routes, blood collection; various methods), tissue harvesting and necropsies is required.
- Proven track record of experience with disease models in the immunology space (respiratory, rheumatology, gastrointestinal, skin).
- Experience with experimental design, study coordination, data interpretation and meticulous documentation.
- Familiar with animal ethics and compliance requirements.
- Self-motivated, proactive, strong attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaborative mindset, able to work both in a team and independently.
- Experience with ancillary in vitro and ex vivo assays to characterize effects of experimental medicines (cell cultures, multicolor flowcytometry, cytokine/inflammatory mediator assessment (ELISA, MSD, WB etc.) is preferred but not required.
