Full Job Description
Opportunity

You will own execution for parts of Boom's products, working closely with the Senior Product Manager to help shape the roadmap and drive day-to-day delivery. You will report directly to the Senior Product Manager, and work closely with engineering, UX designers, and QA - with regular exposure to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Product Officer as you take on more ownership. You'll need to be able to toggle between deep detail (e.g. user experience flows, payment flows, technical documentation) while keeping the broader business strategy and product direction in mind. This role is a great fit for someone who is highly-organized, works well cross-functionally, and wants to ship real products and features; it's not a great fit for someone who wants to do market analysis, benchmarking, slide decks, etc. This is a great opportunity to learn from and work closely with a talented team from places like BCG, Amazon, Grubhub, Eco, and others, with a clear growth path toward greater product ownership. This role is based in Austin alongside our product and leadership team.

What you'll do
  • Own end-to-end release of new product features
  • Assist the product team in managing the product backlog and product bug intake process
  • Help gather user feedback, document requirements, and support the creation of product specs and wireframes
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure clear communication of requirements and timelines
  • Support QA and testing efforts to ensure high-quality product releases
  • Track and report on basic product metrics and user feedback
  • Assist in writing product documentation (e.g. release notes, FAQs, internal guides)
  • Learn and grow as a domain expert in tenant screening, rent reporting, and fintech/proptech trends
  • Support customer discovery efforts by documenting insights and suggesting potential product refinements
What you'll need
  • 1-2 years of experience, ideally with some in a product or adjacent role (e.g. operations, analytics, project management, data analytics)
  • A passion for product management and eagerness to learn
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and ability to operate amidst ambiguity
  • A bias toward action and a willingness to learn quickly
  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal), including basic documentation and note-taking
  • A collaborative attitude and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and operations
Nice to haves
  • Familiarity with Figma, Jira, and Posthog
  • Ability to utilize SQL for creating queries
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts such as APIs, databases, and relationship between frontend and backend development.
Benefits of working at Boom
  • Competitive salary with stock options
  • Full healthcare coverage (health, dental, vision) including 50% coverage for dependents
  • 15 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year + 5 sick days + all US federal holidays (11 in total) (note: we think unlimited PTO is BS and causes some employees to feel guilty when they take it)
  • Company-issued laptop/MacBook
  • Company-sponsored training & development
  • Regular off-sites, retreats, and other company-sponsored events and travel opportunities
