Full Job Description
We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Leader to join our Toronto office. You would be joining our established team delivering complex and large-scale projects across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare facilities, including hospitals, ambulatory care centers, and specialized medical environments, as well as Rail, Data Centers, Higher Education, and Laboratories. This leadership role will be instrumental in expanding our healthcare portfolio, strengthening relationships with healthcare clients and stakeholders, and driving growth across both existing and emerging markets through strategic business development and technical excellence.

The opportunity
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for complex electrical engineering projects, ensuring design excellence, innovation, quality, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Act as Project Manager or Project Director on major multidisciplinary projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk management, and overall project performance.
  • Lead the development and execution of business development strategies to secure new projects, expand existing client relationships, and diversify services across key sectors including Healthcare, Rail, Data Centers, Higher Education, Laboratories, and Commercial Developments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, contractors, architects, and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor throughout project lifecycles.
  • Lead project pursuits, including client engagement, proposal development, fee negotiations, project planning, and interview presentations.
  • Guide electrical engineering teams in the delivery of power distribution systems, emergency power systems, lighting, controls, grounding, communications, and other building systems for complex facilities.
  • Collaborate with other discipline leaders to identify opportunities for integrated design solutions and enhanced client value.
  • Support recruitment, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives to build and sustain a high-performing electrical engineering team.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance development for current and future team members, fostering technical excellence, leadership growth, and professional development.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, sustainability initiatives, and market opportunities to support strategic growth and innovation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Electrical Engineering business strategy, including revenue growth, resource planning, and operational performance.

Is this role right for you?
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or architectural engineering
  • Atleast 15 years' experience designing electrical systems for a range of industrial, commercial, educational, healthcare, laboratories, and/or transit project experience
  • P.Eng is required
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects as a project manager or director
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Established client network in the Canada region
  • Experience with developing proposals and attending pitch meetings with clients to secure projects

Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $180,000 to $250,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
